Computer Science Guides for Grades 6-8
The Computer Science curriculum for grades 6-8 offers a comprehensive introduction to fundamental computing concepts, problem-solving, web development, interactive animations, data science, artificial intelligence, robotics, and cybersecurity. Each grade level builds on the previous one, starting with basic problem-solving and programming in Blockly for 6th grade, progressing to web development and interactive media in 7th grade, and culminating with data science, AI, robotics, and cybersecurity in 8th grade. The curriculum emphasizes critical thinking, iterative improvement, and collaborative skills through hands-on activities, projects, and presentations. Students are equipped with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary to tackle real-world problems and prepare for advanced computer science topics. Special education accommodations ensure inclusivity and support for all learners.
